Getting screwed because I'm retirement

Original review updated Jan 14, 2025

Like many other people in the United States I would like to try the glp one because for the first time in my life I have gained about 30 pounds after never having to diet never having these issues I have gained over the last two years 30 lbs that I cannot get rid of I'm in my 60s so okay you can expect that. So I learned that they have these magical medicines that work especially the newer ones all excited I went to the doctor and got my prescription and found out that anybody on Medicare cannot take this medicine unless they pay out of pocket Medicare won't improve it they don't approve of that medicine even though because of this weight I find it hard to breathe my blood pressure fluctuates my sugar fluctuates I have nowhere near as active so then I gain more weight the stomach that I've gotten makes it very difficult for me to breathe when I'm even trying to walk around because I'm not used to that kind of weight it could be simple they could allow me to get it like all the other insurance companies do but cuz I'm retired once again I'm getting screwed not right it's not right Medicare and you know it. IN CASE YOU'RE UNAWARE IF SOMEONE'S ON MEDICARE BECAUSE THEY'RE RETIRED OR MAYBE EVEN DISABLED THEY PROBABLY CAN'T AFFORD $1,000 OUT OF POCKET JUST FOR A MONTH'S WORTH OF MEDICINE BECAUSE THEY DON'T THEY ALSO DON'T ALLOW US TO MAKE WHAT WE WANT EVEN THOUGH I WORK ON THE STRAP THAT CAN ONLY MAKE $100 A MONTH BECAUSE I GET THE MONEY THAT I WORKED FOR MY WHOLE LIFE MY RETIREMENT SO NOW THEY'RE GOING TO TELL ME HOW MUCH I CAN MAKE WORKING AND THEY WON'T LET ME TAKE MEDICINE THAT EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD CAN TAKE NICE RIGHT

  • Medicare will not pay a dime of that medication

Preferred solution: I would like my GOP one medication to be covered as I have very good reason to want to take it for health purposes

It’s not just people on Medicare. Because of the drug being expensive, they require your doctor to fill out an authorization form listing your chronic conditions and treatments you have tried that failed. No insurance, commercial or Medicare will cover the drug solely for weight loss.

I'm new to Medicare. I have never been so exasperated, angry and frustrated with the ridiculous coverage for vital medications.

I can't get prescriptions without paying hundreds or thousands for them! What am I supposed to do? I guess my RA and endocrinology meds are optional to Medicare! The worst part is they have us in a no-win situation.

Shame on the United States government for allowing such disrespect for seniors on fixed incomes! You're despicable!

Rude people

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I constantly get calls despite multiple requests to take me off the list. After I answer a few of their questions, they just hang up on me.

There's no goodbye or whatever. Now, I see a commercial where they call the woman Karen.

How much further do companies want to divide Americans or cause hatred? Not cool.

Lifetime penalty for no rx plan, ow 50$ a mo.

I've always been into healthy living but have a learning disability. When I was forced to retire early, with my son terminally ill, I wasn't told I had to have a prescription plan.

Medicare said I was sent a form to sign up or be fined. I don't remember that, or I would have complied. But no one told me I had to have that plan. The coercive authorities at Medicare now fine me $50 a month.

If you are an American, have never been in trouble, paid taxes, etc., you are this government's number one enemy and must be punished. No surprise, they have to find some way to pay for criminal surgeries, illegal benefits, lobbying hush money, and feathering their nests!

I hope you all burn in *** you socialist individuals at your precious Medicare, even the name is hypocritical. Hypocritical, since you don't!

I would like to see if I can get back on original Medicare and Medicaid

For some reason, every time I try calling, my phone shows 'call fails'. I guess it's blocked.

Maybe because I've blocked it from a different number, as it doesn't show on this number though. But, can someone call me please?

Terrible service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They deny claims for the same services but for different reasons each time, ignore dates, such as dates of coverage, and make all kinds of other mistakes. It's as though they deny coverage for any reason at all, and unless you're willing to appeal, you'll never get the coverage that Medicare information says you're entitled to.

I hear worse things about the Medicare Advantage plans. I'm hoping that I can find some private insurance I can afford, because I really don't want to spend my hard-earned retirement years appealing Plan B claims.

Non coverage for annual lab work ordered by my doctor

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I paid $347.00 for my lab work I did at quest as ordered by my doctor for my annual first annual checkup. They said Medicare denied payment.

This was my first annual checkup since I signed up for Medicare.

A very unsatisfactory service, I told my Dr. do not schedule labs

for me in the future, as I cannot keep paying for it.

About

Summary

Medicare is a social insurance program administered by the United States government, providing health insurance coverage to people who are aged 65 and over, or who meet other special criteria. The program also funds residency training programs for the vast majority of physicians in the United States. Medicare operates as a single-payer health care system. The original Medicare program has two parts: Part A (Hospital Insurance), and Part B (Medical Insurance). It also has Medicare Part D that provides more comprehensive drug coverage and Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, are another way for beneficiaries to receive Part A, B and D benefits. Medicare offers different kinds of preventive services.
